#  Bertarelli Fellows are first authors on published papers

 Two former Bertarelli Fellows in [Daniel Polley's lab](http://scholar.harvard.edu/polleylab/home), Charles-Henri Vila and Sandra Romero, both published first author papers in peer-reviewed journals based on their work in the Bertarelli Program. Vila's [research](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/31394519) was published in the Journal of Neural Engineering: "Optimizing optogenetic stimulation protocols in auditory corticofugal neurons based on closed-loop spike feedback." Romero's [paper](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/31667491) in Cerebral Cortex discussed her research on "Cellular and Widefield Imaging of Sound Frequency Organization in Primary and Higher Order Fields of the Mouse Auditory Cortex."
