Project Title: Neuromodulation of reafferent sounds
Anne-Aimee Bernard
Project Summary: We aim at reproducing neural reafferent modulation study done one mouse [10] with human subjects, using the blink as the reference for the audiomotor association. Subjects implicitly learn an arbitrary association between movement (blink) and reafferent feedback (tone). As the forward model is formed, the sound-evoked EEG response becomes attenuated to the predicted sound. Deviations in the sound are introduced, allowing the measure of the tuning precision of the spectrotemporal filter for predicted sounds. This project could in addition potentially be useful for studying tinnitus in a new way.
