Curriculum Vitae
Project Summary: The brain is subject to computational resource constraints. As such, one can theorize that, in the context of reinforcement learning, it has evolved to balance reward maximization against the cognitive cost of representing complex action policies. This process can be formalized in the framework of "policy compression", the reduction in computational cost of action policies by making them simpler. My research will focus on examining the neural foundations of policy compression and their dysfunction in psychiatric illness.
