Project Title: An Intracranial EEG study on human working memory
Paula Sánchez López

Project Summary: Working memory involves storing, concentrating on, and processing information for a relatively short period of time, usually several seconds. Items held in working memory are able to be readily modified, reorganized, and quickly updated. Working memory plays an important role in every aspect of life, ranging from reading, engaging in conversation, calculation, understanding logic, to learning, etc. My research will focus on analyzing intracranial EEG recordings of patients playing a working memory game. Studying human working memory with intracranial recordings may 1) reveal precise neural mechanisms underlying working memory thanks to high spatiotemporal resolution; 2) help develop neural intervention techniques to treat memory loss.
